CAF CONFEDERATION CUP CAFCC: Zamalek Beat Black Bulls Away To Reach Quarterfinals

In Mozambique CAF Confederation Cup title holders Zamalek SC defeated Black Bulls 3-1 on Sunday to go to the quarterfinals.

With one game remaining, the Egyptian powerhouses have confirmed their advancement by leading the rankings with 11 points and remaining undefeated in Group D.

Early in the second half, Hossam Ashraf scored twice in rapid succession, making him the night’s star.

He scored Zamalek’s first goal in the 51st minute after jumping on a deflected pass.

After constant pressure from the home team, he finished with skill to double his total just two minutes later.

In response, Egaita Efone of the Black Bulls scored a header in the 62nd minute of play.

But in the 83rd minute, Ahmed Sayed Zizo of Zamalek put an end to any dreams of a comeback with a spectacular solo effort to seal the victory.

Due to the outcome, Black Bulls are now at the bottom of Group D with four points, meaning they will not be able to advance.
