From La Liga to Liga MX: James Rodríguez finds a new home

James Rodríguez’s next destination is now confirmed. The Colombian playmaker has chosen Club León in Mexico, dismissing recent speculation linking him to Banfield, Barranquilla, Boca Juniors, and Racing Club.

According to TUDN, the 33-year-old has agreed to a one-year deal with an option for an additional year.

Currently in Italy for the Kings League, James is set to finalize his free transfer after terminating his contract with Rayo Vallecano, where he struggled to find his footing.

Despite hopes for a strong comeback in La Liga, he managed only 205 minutes of play this season under Iñigo Pérez. Now focused on regaining peak physical condition, James aims to use this move to prepare for the 2026 World Cup, potentially revitalizing his career in Liga MX.
