OM transfer window: Chancel Mbemba’s lawyer speaks out

Amid a challenging period at Olympique de Marseille, Chancel Mbemba has broken his silence regarding his uncertain future, with his lawyer clarifying the defender’s stance.

The winter transfer window at OM has been marked by activity, particularly with departures. While young talents like Enzo Sternal have moved on, and Elye Wahi is linked with Eintracht Frankfurt, the club is also looking to part ways with Chancel Mbemba. Despite being sidelined from the first team, the 30-year-old defender has expressed his willingness to leave, stating, “I hope to leave in January, but when God doesn’t decide, it’s up to humans, and humans are complicated.”

OM has reportedly set Mbemba’s price at €3 million, attracting interest from clubs such as Montpellier, Al-Fateh in the Saudi Pro League, and Stade Rennais. However, his lawyer, Maître Grégory Ernes, refutes claims that Mbemba has rejected offers.

“The information circulating is false. Chancel Mbemba has not received a single concrete offer during this transfer window. The high transfer fee set by OM is discouraging potential suitors. Chancel remains professional and committed, respecting his club and contract, but he is open to examining any serious and transparent offers to find a solution beneficial for all parties,” he stated.

The message is clear: Mbemba is ready to move on, but for now, he remains committed to OM until a viable opportunity arises.
