
Kenya national team Junior Starlets Head Coach Mildred Cheche has hinted that the will move to camp to start preparations for the Under 17 World Cup Qualifiers in the next five days.
“The plan was to start camp by 20th but we are a bit late so hopefully before 25th we should be able to be in camp,” said Cheche.
For the team that was in Tanzania for the CAF Under 17 Girls Integrated Football Tournament, most of them will be in the squad for the upcoming qualifiers.
“We will also have additions for the players who were left out . We will have a mini selection to incorporate the girls who didn’t make it to Tanzania.”
Kenya was granted a bye in the opening round of the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, but now they face Uganda in what promises to be a thrilling encounter. The tie will be contested in two legs, with the first match scheduled between March 7 and 9, 2025, and the return leg set for March 14 to 16, 2025.
The Junior Starlets are poised for an exciting battle as they look to secure a spot at the 2025 U17 Women’s World Cup, with both teams eager to represent East Africa on the global stage.
