The Swiss Public Prosecutor’s Office has officially ceased its investigations against Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) Secretary General Veron Mosengo-Omba. The decision comes after the prosecutors determined that there were no factual or legal grounds to pursue legal proceedings.
In November 2024, Mosengo-Omba voluntarily traveled to Fribourg, Switzerland, to cooperate fully with the preliminary inquiries, demonstrating his commitment to transparency and accountability.
CAF has welcomed the decision with optimism, expressing its satisfaction with the outcome. In a statement, CAF emphasized its adherence to a culture of ethics, transparency, and governance under the leadership of its President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe. The organization highlighted the Secretariat’s commitment to maintaining high standards of compliance and integrity across its operations.
This resolution reinforces the continued efforts of CAF to uphold its values and ensure its management remains aligned with global governance standards. For further inquiries, CAF has directed communication to its official communications department via email.
