As the FIFA women’s international break approaches later this month, Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis has selected a team of 22 players for a training camp.
Mostly composed of players who placed second in the previous year’s COSAFA Women’s Championships, the team will come together from February 17–26 in an effort to scout possible additions in front of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in July.
Banyana will play two friendlies against Lesotho over the 10-day period in order to evaluate emerging talent and expose them to the tacticial expectations and training of the senior women’s national squad.
