Luka Modric aims to extend his Real Madrid journey

At 39, Luka Modric continues to prove his worth at the highest level. The Croatian midfielder scored his third goal of the season against Leganés, reaffirming his importance in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Despite a reduced starting role in La Liga, he remains one of the most utilized players this season, second only to Federico Valverde.

According to AS, Modric is keen to extend his stay at Real Madrid for another year. His current contract expires in June, but his ambition is to continue with the club and remain competitive ahead of the 2026 World Cup. If he achieves this goal, he would be representing Croatia on football’s biggest stage at the age of 40.
