Mathare United have announced the signing of winger John Junior Nyawir from National Super League (NSL) side SamWest Blackboots.

In a statement, the club said: “The offensive wizard has committed to the club for the next two and a half years. Blessed with speed and a wicked left foot, Nyawir leaves the Blackboots having made eight goal contributions in seven games this season.

“The former Rainbow FC player began his pro career at Gor Mahia, where he broke into the senior team under then-coach Vaz Pinto and went on to be part of two Premier League title successes.

“Nyawir becomes our second signing of the mid-season window and joins former Gor teammate Peter Oudu in committing to the club.”
