Ligue 1 Akpom Makes History For Lille In Ligue 1 Debut

Chuba Akpom scored against Le Havre on Saturday night on his Ligue 1 debut, creating history.

Akpom is currently the fourth Nigerian to accomplish this.

On their debuts, Terem Moffi, Moses Simon, and Victor Osimhen each scored for Nantes, Lille, and Lorient, respectively.

The 29-year-old was substituted in Lille’s 2-1 loss to Le Havre.

Following the break, Osame Sahraoui was replaced by the Arsenal academy graduate.

Akpom cut the deficit far into stoppage time after Le Havre’s goals from Koka and Issa Soumare.

The attacker is on loan from Ajax to the former Ligue 1 winners.
