Akwa United defeated Enyimba 2-1 on Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, ending their eight-game losing streak.

Issah Mohammed gave Enyimba an equaliser six minutes before halftime, while Jacob Ogunleye gave Akwa United the lead in the 26th minute.

15 minutes from the end, Akwa United’s Uche Sabastine scored the game-winning goal.

At the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers United defeated Lobi Stars by a slender margin of 1-0.

Two minutes before the end, Timothy Zechariah scored the game-winning goal.

The victory was Finidi George’s team’s first in six league games.

At Kaduna’s Ahmadu Bello Stadium, former champion Plateau United held the Niger Tornadoes to a 1-1 tie.

One minute before the hour, Tornadoes took the lead through Papa Daniel, and two minutes before the end, Samuel Kalu gave the visitors an equaliser.

Holders Rangers and Bayelsa United were held to a 0-0 draw in Yenagoa. The Abia Warriors crushed the Sunshine Stars 3-0 in Umuahia. Samuel Ogunjinmi, Isaac Desouza, and Chigozie Iwundu were all on target for Imama Amapakabo’s side.
