Kenya FKF Kisii County league set to kick off on Saturday with 27 teams

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Kisii County chairman Jezreel Mbegera has confirmed the Kisii County league will kick off on Saturday, February 15.

According to Mbegera, 27 teams will participate in this season’s league. We are kicking of our FKF Kisii County League on Saturday 15.02.2024 just like most of the counties in Nyanza so that we have a unified League. 24 very competitive clubs in the County will be competing against each other,” said Mbegera.

According to Mbegera, Zone A that has majority of clubs from Kisii Central will incorporate 14 teams while Zone B which has teams from the larger Gucha will have 13 teams. “Notable clubs in this season’s league include Shabana Youth and Mwendo FC, who have both threatened to bag the Championship,” added Mbegera.

Mbegera further confirmed that both Nyanza Regional league where he is the Referees Chairman and Division Two Central Zone where he is an LCC member, are progressing on well.

“Our two Division One clubs Gucha Stars and Gusii Starlets are equally performing well. Our National Super League (NSL) representatives Kisii Queens is fighting to join Women Kenyan Premier League next season and our ‘Glamour Boys’ Shabana FC have tremendously improved from last season,” concluded Mbegera.
