After eight months of uncertainty and recovery, Algerian midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has been officially cleared to return to professional football. The 29-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest in June 2024.
Now, after months of medical supervision and rehabilitation, Bentaleb has been given the green light to resume his career. Lille president Olivier Létang expressed his delight at the midfielder’s return, acknowledging the difficult journey he and his family have endured.
“It’s a real joy to see after the long and difficult ordeal that Nabil and his family have been through,” Létang stated.
Bentaleb, known for his tenacity and leadership in midfield, joined Lille in 2023 after an impressive spell at Angers. His absence was a significant blow to the club, but his return now offers a major boost as Lille continues their push for European football.
With his resilience and determination, the Algerian international is set to resume training with Lille, hoping to make a competitive return in the coming weeks.
