Zambia U17 Women’s National Team coach Carol Kanyemba has named a 35-member provisional squad to enter camp this weekend ahead of next month’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025 qualifiers.
The Copper Princesses will take on Tanzania in a two-legged second-round encounter, with the first leg set for the first week of March and the return fixture scheduled for the following week. Aston Villa youth player Jessica Cholwe Johnson and National Assembly goalkeeper Decent Mbewe have made the cut in Kanyemba’s refined squad.
A victory over Tanzania will see Zambia progress to the third round, where they will face the winner of the combined fixtures between Congo, Benin, DR Congo, and Niger. This decisive round will determine whether Kanyemba’s side secures back-to-back spots at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
The 2025 edition of the tournament will mark a historic first as it will be held on African soil for the first time.
