African players abroad FC Basel Secure Ghanaian Teen Christian Duah on Long-Term Deal

Swiss Super League side FC Basel 1893 have secured Ghanaian teenager Christian Duah on a long-term contract set to run until January 2028, the club has confirmed.

The 15-year-old sensation, who previously played for FC Köniz, will join Basel’s U17 youth team following his impressive performances with the U16 setup.

An official statement from the club’s website confirmed the signing:

“Young player Christian Duah has signed a contract with FC Basel 1893 until the end of January 2028.”

“The younger brother of Swiss international Kwadwo Duah moved from FC Köniz to Rotblau’s youth department in the summer of 2023 and is currently playing in the U17 team. The 15-year-old attacker already made a partial appearance at international level in the 6-0 win against Sabah KF in the UEFA Youth League last autumn.”

“FCB is delighted to have secured long-term contracts with Christian Duah, one of Switzerland’s greatest young talents.”

Duah, the younger sibling of Ludogorets Razgrad striker Kwadwo Duah who is cup-tied for Switzerland, is regarded as a promising prospect for Ghana at the international level, having represented Switzerland at the U15 and U16 youth levels.
