FIFA U17 WORLD CUP Flamingos Floor Bantwana To Edge Closer To Morocco 2025

After defeating Bantwana of South Africa 2-0, the Nigerian Flamingos advanced to the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final qualifying round.

The team led by Bankole Olowookere won the second round qualifying match 5-1 overall.

Despite dominating the first few minutes, Nigeria didn’t take the lead until the 37th minute.

Harmony Chidi, a dependable forward, opened the scoring with a fantastic strike from within the box.

Chidi scored his third goal in the qualifying round. Eleven minutes after the half, Aishat Animashaun extended the Flamingos’ lead.

In the last round, Nigeria will play the winner of the match between Algeria and Botswana.

A spot at the U-17 Women’s World Cup, which Morocco will host later this year, is assured for the overall winner.
