The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Andrew Kamanga has congratulated the Under-17 Women National Team for qualifying to the third and final round of the Morocco 2025 FIFA Women World Cup.
Zambia beat Tanzania 1-0 in Ndola in the return leg to carry a 4-0 cushion over two legs. Kamanga says the Under-17 victory sets the pace for other teams that are taking part in various competitions this year.
“On behalf of my executive and the entire football family, I wish to congratulate our under-17 Women National Team for qualifying to the final round of the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup to be staged in Morocco,” he says.
“We are no doubt picking up from where we left last year when the U17 Women qualified to the FIFA World. Congratulations to the technical bench, the team and the FAZ secretariat staff for this victory.”
Kamanga has urged the girls not to relax as they face either Benin or Congo in the final round. He has thanked the fans for the support toward all the national teams participating in international fixtures.
“A big thank you to the fans that turned in numbers and continue to push our teams to glory. The fans are part of the reason we keep working hard to take our game to the highest level,” he says.
