A jersey prepared for Zinédine Zidane during the 1998 World Cup final was sold for €52,000 at an auction in Paris this Saturday, reports BFMTV.
Although not worn by the French icon during the match against Brazil, it was part of the kit available to him that evening. The sale, organized by Millon, featured 200 lots, many from Frédéric Emile, former team manager of AS Saint-Étienne.
Among the other prized jerseys, Michel Platini’s 1985 Intercontinental Cup final shirt went for €30,000, while Kylian Mbappé’s jersey from the 2022 World Cup match against Denmark found a buyer for €12,000. Items also included match-worn shirts from Lilian Thuram and Didier Deschamps in the 1998 World Cup semi-finals, as well as those of Bixente Lizarazu and Alessandro Nesta from the Euro 2000 final.
