FIFA World Cup Congo World Cup Qualifier Match Against Tanzania Cancelled

FIFA’s crackdown on governance violations has resulted in the official cancellation of the much-anticipated FIFA World Cup qualifier between Tanzania and Congo scheduled on March 17, 2025.

FIFA suspended the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFOOT) on February 6, 2025, for interfering with FIFA’s internal affairs, which is the reason for the cancellation.

Congo was banned from all international events after FIFA and CAF’s investigation revealed that FECOFOOT had lost control over its headquarters and football activities.

The Effects of Congo’s Fallout on Group E Congo loses all of the remaining qualifiers, including their next game against Zambia, as their participation has been suspended.
