Amine Gouiri’s goal just before halftime gave Vladimir Petkovic’s team the lead after a strong first half, and Mohamed Amoura doubled the lead with a well-taken shot (52′).

Botswana pulled one back through Tebogo Kopelang, but it was insufficient to shake the North Africans, as they quickly restored the two-goal lead with another Amoura goal.
The win saw Algeria moved to top of Group G with 12 points but goal difference separate them from Mozambique.
