FIFA World Cup 2026 WCQ: Antoine Semenyo Eyes Another Victory Against Madagascar in World Cup Qualifier

Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo is focused on helping the Black Stars secure another crucial win as they face Madagascar on Monday in their final matchday 6 fixture of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. With Ghana aiming to solidify their position in the race for qualification, the AFC Bournemouth striker is determined to make an impact.

Speaking ahead of the game, Semenyo emphasized the importance of consistency, stating, “We need to win both the easy and hard games to qualify for the World Cup.”

The 24-year-old attacker, who found the net during this international break, acknowledged the ups and downs of goal-scoring form but remains focused on his performances. “I feel like every player has a period when they don’t score. Every game is an opportunity to try and get a goal; if I don’t, I focus on the next game,” he added.

Ghana heads into the game after a positive run of results, with coach Otto Addo urging his players to maintain their momentum. Semenyo, who has been in fine form for both club and country, sees the match as another opportunity to contribute. “I felt like, during this international break, I needed to get a goal. I’m not going to say there is any pressure,” he said, dismissing any concerns about expectations.

With Madagascar also looking to end their campaign on a high note, Ghana will need a strong performance to secure all three points. A win would boost their hopes of securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a tournament they last played in during the 2022 edition in Qatar.

As the Black Stars prepare for Monday’s clash, all eyes will be on Antoine Semenyo and his attacking prowess to lead Ghana to another vital victory.
