Africa Soccer LeFA President visits National Academy in Leribe to monitor progress

The Lesotho Football Association President Advocate Salemane Phafane (KC), on Saturday, April 12th visited the National Academy in Maputsoe to monitor progress made as the 33 kids prepare to reunite with their families for the first time since during the Easter Holidays.

The players scouted as LeFA roled out the Talent Development Scheme country-wide in 2023, began their journey at the Academy in Maputsoe in January as they undergo both their football and academic simultaneously.

LeFA have since roped in a technical team to work with the players consisting of renowned youth Coach Mahlomola Mats’oara, former Majantja and Bantu goalkeeper coach Leuta Makhoa, Tumelo Bale as the kit manager, Safeguarding officer in Ratang Mapholo as well as a medical personnel in Mokoena Makenete.

An international coach provided by FIFA is expected to join the academy later in the year. Advocate Phafane expressed his delight at the progress made by the kids both academically and with their football program, where they have been playing in the C Division of the Maputsoe Zone.
