Ghana Hearts of Oak Held to Thrilling 1-1 Draw by Vision FC at Nii Adjei Kraku Stadium

Accra Hearts of Oak were forced to settle for a pulsating 1-1 draw against Vision FC in a fiercely contested Ghana Premier League Matchday 27 encounter at the Nii Adjei Kraku Stadium. Vision FC had boldly declared their intentions to stun the Phobians even before halftime, but the visitors stood firm in a game that showcased drama, intensity, and quality from both sides.

It was Hearts of Oak who drew first blood in the first half through in-form defender Osei Asibey— a player many fans and pundits alike are calling to be handed a national team call-up. The towering defender reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box after Ransford Mensah floated in a teasing freekick, guiding the ball past the goalkeeper to give the Phobians a deserved 1-0 lead going into the break.

Vision FC, however, came out of the tunnel with renewed energy and purpose. Their relentless pressure finally paid off when Adjetey Sowah curled in a stunning equalizer that beats Hearts’ goalkeeper and Black Stars number one, Benjamin Asare.

Despite several chances for both sides, the match ended in a draw—much to the delight of the home fans and the disappointment of Hearts, who had hoped to claim all three points.

After the game, Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara shared his thoughts:

“I think we played against a tough side. Yes, I am impressed. The opponent also did their best preventing us from scoring.”

He added that his team is focused on bouncing back strongly:

“We are going into the next game with one mission – and that is to take the maximum points.”

The result sees Hearts of Oak continue their push for a strong finish to the season, while Vision FC will take heart from a well-earned point against one of the giants of Ghanaian football.
