The Gambia home-based Scorpions commenced training in preparation for the first leg of the final round of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championships playoff against Algeria next month.
The training under the supervision of Head Coach Alhagie Sarr was held at the Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum with all players present.
Sarr noted that today’s session was to welcome back the players and interact with them with a view to introduce the training mechanism as the team begins its technical preparations ahead of the home leg against Algeria on Saturday 3rd May, 2025 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Meanwhile, due to the FF Cup competition’s round of 32 matches scheduled to begin tomorrow, training for Tuesday, May 15, is called off until Wednesday. This is because a large part of the group would be engaged in their respective ties.
