Uganda Stars, Sharks braced for relegation six-pointer as Kitara host Lugazi

Soltilo Bright Stars host Wakiso Giants in a Kavumba derby that could determine the fate of the two teams in the fight to stay up.

The two sides are languishing in relegation zone with the hosts in 15th place with as many points while the Purple Sharks are just above with three points more. A win for Steven Bengo’s men will take them within two points of safety and thus put pressure on Mbarara City who host SC Villa on Wednesday.

For Ian Mutenda’s men, anything less than three points will surely point to going down after more than ten years in the top division. The two sides played to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at Kabaka Kyabaggu.

At Royal Park Butema, wounded Kitara will demand immediate reaction after a narrow but painful defeat to NEC in their last outing.

Wasswa Bbosa’s men need victory to close in on top four which they are behind by four points while Lugazi, winless in the last three matches want to win again in order to continue further steps in the fight to stay up.
