Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich’s injured goalie, will not play in Wednesday’s second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal match against Inter Milan of Italy, the club announced on Tuesday.
A number of Bayern players are out due to injuries, including defenders Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito, offensive midfielder Jamal Musiala, and Neuer, who will accompany the squad to Italy later on Tuesday.
“Manuel Neuer will not play due to injury but will travel to Milan with the team in order to support it,” Bayern said in a statement.

After last week’s 2-1 home loss to Inter in the first leg, there were expectations that Neuer, 39, would recover for the return game despite being sidelined for over a month due to a calf muscle injury.
In the last four, the victor will play either Borussia Dortmund or Barcelona.
With five games remaining and a six-point lead, Bayern is also leading the Bundesliga.
