Ghana Asante Kotoko Parts Ways with Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum

Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has this afternoon confirmed the departure of Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, bringing an end to his most recent tenure with the Porcupine Warriors.

In an official statement released by the club, the decision was described as mutual and made following “constructive discussions between both parties, with a shared understanding that it is in the best interest of the club at this time.”

Dr. Ogum, who previously led Kotoko to a Ghana Premier League title during his first spell, returned to the club amid high hopes of rekindling past glories. While his second stint saw flashes of brilliance, it also came with challenges that made this decision inevitable.

“We thank Coach Ogum for his dedication and service to the club,” the statement continued, “and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

The club further called on its passionate fanbase to remain calm and united in this period of transition: “We urge our supporters to remain calm and continue to support the club. Further updates will be communicated in due course.”

The search for a new head coach is expected to begin immediately, as Kotoko look to steady the ship and finish the season on a strong note. However, the assistant coach would step in as they prepare for their next match this weekend.
