Kenya will host the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup from June 1 to 21, marking the tournament’s return after a five-year absence.

The regional competition, last played in 2019, will serve as vital preparation for national teams ahead of the FIFA 2026 and CHAN 2024 qualifiers. Kenya last hosted—and won—the tournament in 2017.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by Sports Principal Secretary Elijah Mwangi.
