Real Madrid’s next era: Alonso’s shortlist for new striker revealed

Expected to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso is already actively preparing for the summer transfer window.

The Spanish coach has reportedly asked the club to sign a striker, identifying three potential targets: Viktor Gyökeres, Victor Boniface, and Patrik Schick. This move comes as Madrid plans its offensive options around new star Kylian Mbappé and Brazilian prodigy Endrick, who joins this summer.

Alonso is also said to be pushing for reinforcements in other areas, including midfielders Martin Zubimendi and Florian Wirtz, as well as defenders Jonathan Tah and Piero Hincapié, both of whom have played under him at Bayer Leverkusen. However, Wirtz appears close to joining Bayern Munich. While Real’s interest in Gyökeres could cost between €70m and €100m, Boniface and Schick—who have shined this season in Germany—offer tactical flexibility. The coming weeks should clarify how Real Madrid plans to integrate new forwards into a team already brimming with attacking talent.
