Egyptian Premier League Zamalek Part Ways With Peseiro Just After Three Month

Due to under performance, Zamalek terminated Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro’s contract by mutual consent, the Egyptian football team announced on Wednesday.

Peseiro has been in command for less than three months.

“An agreement has been reached between Zamalek and coach Jose Peseiro to mutually terminate the contract,” the club said on Facebook. “We wish you the best in your future endeavours.”

The defending champions, Zamalek, were eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup and the Egyptian League Cup under Peseiro, and a poor league run saw them drop to third place, seven points behind leaders Pyramids.

Peseiro, 65, a former coach of Porto and Sporting Lisbon, joined Zamalek on February 14 to become just the fifth coach to lead both Egyptian rivals, Zamalek and Al-Ahly.

Peseiro has also coached the national teams of Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela, as well as the Saudi club Al-Hilal and the United Arab Emirates’s Al Wahda and Sharjah.
