Sierra Leone’s U20 national team, the Shooting Stars, have kicked off their quarter-final preparations ahead of Monday’s crucial clash at the CAF TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
All 26 players in Coach Mohamed Lamin Kamara’s squad took part in a full training session on Thursday morning at the Mercure Hotel training ground in Ismailia, signaling a clean bill of health and a full squad available for selection.
The team progressed to the knockout stage after an impressive Group A campaign, which included victories over hosts Egypt and Tanzania, a draw against Zambia, and a defeat to South Africa.
Now preparing for their first-ever U20 AFCON quarter-final, the Shooting Stars are in high spirits, focused, and ready to bring a refreshed tactical approach as they head to Cairo for what promises to be a historic encounter.
