Nigeria Which Nigerian Star is Most Likely to Join the Premier League this Summer?

While the Nigeria national team have endured some struggles in recent times, there are still some amazing players in their ranks. A few of these have garnered attention from the top clubs in the Premier League, and one or more may earn a big-money switch in the summer.

Victor Osimhen has arguably impressed the most this season, and various clubs now see the powerhouse as an attractive option. There’s also talk of a return for Ademola Lookman, and Tolu Arokodare could be on some clubs’ radars.

Osimhen Could Be the Answer to United’s Woes

Manchester United have struggled again this season and were given odds of around 33/1 by betting sites in Nigeria to finish in the top half of the table with five games remaining. Even by the club’s post-Sir Alex Ferguson standards, that’s an incredible fall from grace.

Of all the problems to address at Old Trafford, the lack of a prolific goal scorer could be the most pressing. The Red Devils have been heavily linked with Osimhen, who could be the strong and lethal finisher that they’ve been desperate for since Romelu Lukaku left in 2019.

Reports that Osimhen will be on the move in the summer are abundant, as his future at Napoli is untenable. If United can swoop for him before their rivals, it could be a huge statement going into the 2025-26 campaign.

Lookman to Join Liverpool?

Wing play is so pivotal to Liverpool’s attacks, and Arne Slot will most likely be looking to add to his options in the transfer market. Ademola Lookman has been identified as one potential option, with some reports suggesting that the club is ready to spend £51 million on the player.

Despite having played for Liverpool’s bitter rivals Everton in the past and joining their long list of flops, Lookman looks like a clever option for the Reds. He’s taken the Serie A by storm with his performances for Atalanta, and now he’s hungry to prove himself in the best league in the world again. Lookman fits the bill for Liverpool, as he’s a versatile forward who can play across the front three. This would give Slot plenty of ways to mix up his attack and take the pressure off his other stars.

Arokodare Could Improve Various Teams

Arokodare isn’t yet a household name in England, but he could be soon. The towering forward’s numbers for Genk have been impressive, with 32 goals in 82 league appearances. He may not be as polished as some of his compatriots up front, but he could develop into an incredible player with the right coaching.

The centre-forward made his debut for Nigeria in 2025, highlighting how he’s already considered ready for international matches. It’s unlikely that he’s on the radar of top clubs, but he could improve various sides in the bottom half of the table, and some recruitment departments may be looking at him.

The Premier League could soon have a few new Nigerians playing in it, with rumours about potential moves getting stronger. Osimhen looks the most likely to join, and he could be an excellent addition to the division.
