In a video shared on social media on Thursday, Leroy Sane bid farewell to Bayern Munich supporters as the German winger gets closer to finalising a deal to Galatasaray of Turkey.
Champions of the Turkish Super Lig Galatasaray had previously announced that Sane, a 29-year-old Germany international, was in Istanbul and that they had begun transfer negotiations with him.
Sane signed a five-year contract with Bayern in 2020 after winning the Premier League with Manchester City in 2018 and 2019.
His Bayern contract would expire at the end of June, and he would be joining Galatasaray as a free agent.
Like other teams, our women’s squad wants to participate at the regional level.
He has won two DFL-Supercups, one UEFA Super Cup, a Club World Cup, and four Bundesliga titles with Bayern, including the most recent one.
“Dear Bayern fans, after five intense years here in Munich, I’ve decided to start a new chapter in the upcoming season,” Sane posted on Instagram.
“I’m incredibly proud to have worn the jersey of the best and biggest club in Germany for over 200 matches and will always cherish the titles we’ve won together.
“Thank you to the club, the coaching staff, everyone behind the scenes, my teammates, and especially you, the fans, for the time we’ve shared and the memories we’ve made. I will forever be grateful for my time here Bayern!”
Sane, who has earned 70 caps for Germany, has made 220 appearances for Bayern in all competitions, tallying 61 goals and 55 assists.
