Quincy Promes has been arrested in Dubai, as confirmed by Dutch outlet De Telegraaf and his lawyer, who declined to make further statements.

The former Netherlands international Quincy Promes, aged 33, is wanted by Dutch authorities following an extradition request. He has reportedly been placed in a secure detention facility while the process unfolds.

Promes faces a combined prison sentence of seven and a half years in the Netherlands: six years for his role in cocaine trafficking and another 18 months for the stabbing of his cousin. His appeal failed to overturn the sentences. After the Amsterdam court rejected his voluntary return request, authorities are now preparing for his extradition by plane to serve his sentence.
