African players abroad Real Madrid Make Move for Granada Youngster Oscar Naasei Oppong

Real Madrid have submitted an offer to sign highly-rated Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei Oppong from Granada, sources close to the deal have confirmed. The 20-year-old is seen as a promising talent for the future, and Los Blancos are looking to secure his signature for a reported fee of around €1 million.

Oppong, who has been quietly impressing with Granada’s B team and earned a few first-team call-ups, is known for his composure on the ball, strong positioning, and ability to play across the backline. His performances have caught the attention of Madrid’s scouting department, who view him as a player capable of adding youthful depth to the defensive unit next season.

Should the deal go through, Naasei would initially be expected to train with the senior squad while gaining experience with the Castilla side or being used as a rotational option. The move aligns with Madrid’s recent strategy of investing in young talent with long-term potential, following similar signings in recent years.

While personal terms are yet to be finalised, both clubs are optimistic about reaching an agreement soon. Oppong, who has roots in Ghana but is developing his career in Spain, is said to be eager for the opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in world football.
