Africa Soccer Zambia FA names retired FIFA referee Hachiwa as new Referees Manager


The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has appointed retired FIFA referee Stanley Hachiwa as new Referees Manager. FAZ general secretary Reuben Kamanga says Hachiwa will replace Derrick Kafuli who had been acting in that capacity from February 2024.

“The Football Association of Zambia is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Stanley Hachiwa as the new Referees Manager. The decision came after wide consultations with local and international stakeholders,” said Kamanga.

The general secretary has thanked the acting Referees Manager Mr Derrick Kafuli for handling the affairs of referees from February 2024 to date.

“Mr. Hachiwa’s credentials as a former FIFA referee and instructor after retiring made it very easy for FAZ to tap into his experience.”He has assured Mr. Hachiwa of maximum support in his new role.

“Refereeing is a very critical pillar in the football ecosystem and requires due attention which the new executive committee has done. We can only wish Mr. Hachiwa all the best in his new role and assure him of our maximum support,” he added.

Hachiwa’s appointment is with immediate effect.
