The Namibian U20 Men’s National Team head coach, Jerimi Zimmer has named his final squad as he prepares for the upcoming 2025 COSAFA U20 Championships. Namibia’s national Under-20 men’s (Young Warriors) squad reported for camp on Thursday 19 June 2025. The team will be based at the NFA Technical Centre.
The COSAFA U20 Championships plays a pivotal role for the rising stars as they eye graduation into the Brave Warriors and signing for Premier League teams.
“Most of the players in camp are currently playing in the MTC HopSol Youth League and the league is still active meaning the focus will be more on the tactical aspects and little on fitness. We want the players to understand our methodology. We will try out a few combinations with a few scheduled practices matches and will have daily training and video sessions with the players, for them to understand what we expect from them” said Zimmer
Jerimi Zimmer was assistant coach to James Britz when Namibia won silver in the 2020 edition after being defeated 1-0 by Mozambique in the final held in Port Elizabeth. The Young Warriors went to make a maiden appearance at the u20 Total Energies AFCON the following year.
“I am looking forward to my first official international match as coach of the Young Warriors and I believe that the crop of talent we have will make my job much easier” he added
Jerimi Zimmer will be assisted by Uerikondjera Kasaona.
