Accra Hearts of Oak have taken a bold step forward as the club’s Board announced sweeping changes to the technical team following a thorough evaluation of last season’s performance in the Ghana Premier League under Coach Aboubakar Ouattara.
In a move aimed at reigniting the club’s competitive edge, Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has been officially appointed as the new Head Coach of the Phobians. He signs a two-year contract and takes over with immediate effect.
The appointment of Coach Dramani underscores Hearts of Oak’s intent to build a strong and modern footballing structure. A veteran of African and European football development systems, Dramani brings a wealth of experience to the capital-based club. His coaching journey includes stints with Danish side FC Nordsjælland, the Right to Dream Academy, and a successful spell with Kumasi Asante Kotoko, where he won back-to-back Ghana Premier League titles.
Internationally, Dramani was part of Ghana’s coaching team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and has previously led the Ghana Black Galaxies. His role as Head of Football at the globally respected Right to Dream Academy has also added depth to his football education and management acumen.
Dramani holds UEFA License ‘B’ and CAF License ‘A’ certifications, along with recognition as a CAF Instructor and Assessor—credentials that place him among the top-tier technical minds in African football.
The newly appointed coach will replace Coach Aboubakar Ouattara. He is expected to meet with the playing squad in the coming days, where he will outline his vision, training methodology, and long-term developmental philosophy. His immediate focus will be preparing Hearts of Oak for two key assignments: the prestigious 2025 President’s Cup and the Eko International Tournament in Nigeria.
The club’s leadership believes Dramani’s appointment marks a turning point, aligning Hearts of Oak with modern coaching trends and positioning the team for sustained domestic and continental success.
