Dutch footballer Quincy Promes, 33, has been officially extradited from Dubai to the Netherlands, as confirmed this Friday by De Telegraaf.
Arrested on June 13 following a Dutch extradition request, Quincy Promes was flown back aboard a government-chartered flight under the escort of the Royal Netherlands Constabulary.
The former international has been sentenced to a total of seven and a half years in prison—six years for cocaine trafficking and 18 months for stabbing his cousin. He has now been placed in a detention facility where he will begin serving his sentence. Promes may be eligible for parole no earlier than 2030.
