Africa Soccer VALLEY QUEENS TAKE LEAD…..Buffaloes Forfeit Match Over Ineligible Player

The Disciplinary Committee of the 2025 FAZ Women’s National League Playoffs has ruled in favour of Valley Queens FC following a protest against Young Green Buffaloes Girls FC for fielding an ineligible player during their Group A clash played on 18 June 2025.

The match, which had initially ended in a 2-1 win for Green Buffaloes, has now been awarded as a 3-0 forfeit victory to Valley Queens after investigations revealed that Buffaloes fielded a player not registered in the FAZ system.

The individual, who wore jersey number 29 and was listed as Serah Tembo, was found to have assumed a false identity. The image and information associated with the registered profile did not match the player who featured in the match.

According to the Disciplinary Committee, that constituted a serious breach of FAZ Player Registration and Transfer Regulations (Article 11.1) and the FAZ Disciplinary Code (Article 61), and violates the principles of fair competition and player eligibility.

As per Rule 6.1 of the tournament regulations, the match has been overturned, and Valley Queens have been awarded a 3-0 win. The ruling changes the dynamics in Group A, with Valley Queens FC now sitting top of the group with three wins from three matches, totaling 9 points.

Young Green Buffaloes Girls FC, who were previously unbeaten, now drop to second place with 2 wins and 1 loss, leaving them on 6 points. Mweenzo Queens FC remain in third with 3 points from two matches, having won one and lost one. They maintain a neutral goal difference of 0.

Chipembele Police FC and Kalumbila Queens FC are both without points after two matches each and have negative goal differences of -2 and -3, respectively. The FAZ Disciplinary Committee has further warned that repeated breaches of player eligibility could lead to automatic disqualification and forfeiture of all matches under Rule 3.6 of the tournament regulations.

The 2025 Women’s Playoffs continue on Friday and Saturday, with the top two teams from each group earning promotion to the ZPL Women’s National League for the 2025/26 season.
