Paul Pogba has finally broken his silence in a moving interview on TF1’s Sept à Huit, addressing the darkest period of his life. The 2018 World Cup winner reflected on his 18-month doping suspension—reduced from four years after appeal—his contract termination with Juventus, and his upcoming return to football with AS Monaco.
“It’s like I’m a kid again,” he said, confirming a two-year deal with the Ligue 1 side and expressing his desire to compete again at the highest level. Paul Pogba stayed in shape throughout his suspension and aims to return to Champions League football in 2025, with his eyes also on the 2026 World Cup.
Beyond sport, Pogba opened up about the trauma caused by his brother Mathias, who was convicted in an extortion case involving armed threats. “I was scared of dying,” Pogba admitted, recalling the emotional toll.
Still in contact with his brother, he acknowledged a lasting scar: “Blood is blood, but it will take time.” Despite bitterness toward Juventus and feelings of abandonment, the midfielder says he has regained his strength and is focused on the future. Now 32, Pogba hopes his journey from pain to recovery can inspire, as he prepares to reclaim his place in the game he still loves deeply.
