Ugandan Premier League side KCCA FC has announced the acquisition of highly rated right-back Lazaro Muhindo, who joins from Kitara FC and has signed a two-year contract with the cityzens.
Muhindo has steadily established himself as one of the Uganda Premier League’s standout right-backs. He was a joy to watch for many in the 2024/25 season, starting 23 of the 27 games he featured in at Kitara FC, thus earning a well-deserved call-up to the Uganda Cranes provisional CHAN squad.
This move also sees Muhindo reunite with KCCA FC’s co-coach Brian Ssenyondo, under whom he previously played at Kitara.
“I am happy to join KCCA FC. This is a big club with clear ambitions, and I am looking forward to contributing to the club’s success. I am ready to work hard, compete for a starting spot, and help the team achieve its goals, especially bringing back titles to Lugogo,” he said.
Lazaro is a product of Rwenzori Lions FC, where he played before his impactful stint at Kitara FC. At KCCA FC, Muhindo will add depth and competition to the right-back position, vying for a starting role alongside players like Gavin Kizito and Haruna Lukwago. His versatility, having previously operated as a right winger, further adds value to the squad.
Lazaro becomes KCCA’s second signing of the primary transfer window after forward Ivan Ahimbisibwe.
