Uganda Draws Conducted for FUFA Stakeholders Cup 2025 Ahead of Friday Kick-off

With the inaugural FUFA Stakeholders Cup just days away, the official tournament draws have now been conducted ahead of the much-anticipated kickoff scheduled for Friday, 4th July 2025, at the Royal Park Butema.

The tournament, which was launched as a new initiative by the FUFA President and approved by the Executive Committee, seeks to foster unity and collaboration across Uganda’s football ecosystem through friendly yet competitive engagement on the pitch. The cup will be played in a 7-a-side format, with each team required to register 12 players, including at least two females. One female must be present on the field at all times during play.

Following the draw, Group A consists of Western/Kitara, Northern/West Nile, North East/Eastern, and Kampala/Buganda. Group B includes FUFA/UPL and FUFA Media Services (FMS), with two byes included to balance fixtures. The teams playing against the byes are through to the semi-finals.

The group stage matches will be played simultaneously on two pitches, Omondi and Majidu, starting at 2:30 PM. Western/Kitara will take on FUFA/UPL at Omondi, while Northern/West Nile face FUFA FMS at Majidu.

Notably, the FUFA President’s IX and Host Community Legends will play a ceremonial 11-a-side exhibition match at the close of the day’s programme.

FUFA has also allocated prize money to celebrate outstanding performance, with UGX 2,000,000 set aside for the winning team. The second and third-placed teams will take home UGX 1,000,000 and UGX 750,000 respectively. Individual awards of UGX 200,000 each will go to the tournament’s MVP, top scorer, best goalkeeper, and the team with the best fair play record.
