The Delta State Sports Commission has formally announce the re-constitution of Delta Queens Football Club in preparation for the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season.

A statement signed by Franka Okonma on behalf of the chairman of the State Sports Commission said following the dissolution of the former management and technical setup at the end
of the 2024/2025 season, the Commission has approved the appointment of a new management team, technical crew, and support staff to reposition the club for greater efficiency, professionalism, and improved performance.

Awhana Mercy has been reappointed as General Manager of the club, bringing a wealth of administrative experience and institutional knowledge to lead the club.

She will work closely with Samson Keshi, a UEFA-trained coach and former head
coach of Naija Ratels FC, who has been appointed as the head coach of Delta Queens FC. Keshi’s exposure to modern coaching techniques and international training standards is expected to strengthen the club’s competitive edge.

Other members of the technical crew include:
Susan Joy Aliya, Assistant coach; Maureen Eke, Assistant coach; Njoku Okechukwu, goalkeeper trainer; Jennifer Adjuyah, curator; Maureen Godwin
Assistant Curator.

The new backroom staff are; Oyibo Joy, Club Secretary, Usiada Ese, welfare officer, Edosovba Theresa, Chaperon; Akanigha Austin ,Media Officer;Veronica Ogigai, Nurse; Abubakar Lukman Masseur; Ikopi Ogbemudia, Videographer; Okpimp Stephen, Photographer; Orukpe Goodluck, Driver;Aboghe Dennis Driver and Aniemeke Gift, cook.

The re-constitution exercise is part of the Commission’s broader efforts to enhance
professionalism, inject new energy into the club’s operations, and ensure the team remains competitive in the top tier of women’s football in Nigeria.

The newly constituted team will be officially inaugurated in the coming days.
