CHAN CHAN 2024: Chelle Releases 35-Man Provisional Squad

A provisional team of 35 players has been selected by head coach Eric Chelle for the 2024 African Nations Championship.

Most of the players who participated in the last qualifying round match against the Ghanaian Black Galaxies were called up by Chelle.

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), captain Junior Nduka, Papa Daniel Mustapha, and top scorers Anas Yusuf and Sodiq Ismail from the previous season are at the top of the list.

Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Saviour Isaac, and Adamu Abubakar were on the list, along with goalkeepers Henry Ani and Kayode Bankole.

Ebenezer Harcourt, a custodian for the Flying Eagles, received his first senior-level invitation, as did midfielder Adam Aminu, Godwin Obaje, and Joseph Atule.

On Monday, July 7, all invited athletes are expected to show up at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, presenting their valid club licence and international passports.

Senegal, Sudan, and Congo are the holders in Group D, where the home Eagles are drawn.

Before facing Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, they will play their opening two games of the competition against Senegal and Sudan at the Amman Stadium on the island of Zanzibar.
