Ekhaya goalkeeper Elias Misi has replaced Silver Strikers’ shot-stopper George Chikooka in the Malawi national team camp ahead of the Independence Celebrations friendly match against Botswana.

Chikooka sustained an injury during the Bankers’ midweek clash against Creck. The match will be played at Bingu National Stadium. Flames Head Coach Kalisto Pasuwa has named a 25-man squad for the match.

Pasuwa has retained 17 players from the squad that participated in last month’s Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup, including FCB Nyasa Bullets Reserves midfielder Oscar Petro, who made his debut in the tournament against Angola.

The team is expected to regroup in Lilongwe on Thursday 3rd July to begin preparations.
