African players abroad Thomas Partey Denies Rape Allegations, Lawyer Jenny Wiltshire Speaks Out

Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has formally denied all rape allegations against him, vowing to clear his name after what his legal team describes as a “three-year investigation.”

Jenny Wiltshire, Partey’s lawyer, issued a statement through The Guardian, emphasizing the player’s cooperation with authorities. “Thomas Partey denies all the charges against him. He has fully cooperated with the police and CPS throughout their three-year investigation. He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name,” Wiltshire said.

Wiltshire is a partner at prominent London law firm Hickman & Rose, where she leads the Serious and General Crime department. She is widely regarded as one of the UK’s top criminal defence solicitors, known for handling high-profile and complex cases. Notably, she previously represented former Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy, who faced multiple accusations of rape and attempted rape in the UK. Wiltshire successfully defended Mendy, helping him clear his name and pursue damages following his acquittal.

Arsenal Football Club also issued a statement on Partey’s status, confirming his departure from the club:

“The player’s contract ended on June 30. Due to ongoing legal proceedings the club is unable to comment on the case.”

The allegations against Partey have cast a shadow over his professional career. However, sources close to the Ghanaian international insist he remains focused on his legal defence and is determined to prove his innocence.

The case continues to unfold, with the football world watching closely.
