2026 FIFA WORLD CUP: Gaspar Confident Black Stars Goalkeepers Ready for England Test

Black Stars goalkeepers coach Daniel Gaspar has expressed confidence in Ghana’s goalkeeping department ahead of the team’s crucial FIFA World Cup Group L clash against England, insisting his shot-stoppers are fully prepared for whatever challenges await them.

Speaking before the highly anticipated encounter, Gaspar revealed that the goalkeepers have been put through intensive preparations to ensure they can cope with every situation they may face against the Three Lions.

“Our goalkeepers are prepared for all the conditions they’ll be exposed to against England,” Gaspar said, underlining the technical and mental readiness of the squad.

The former Portugal youth goalkeeping coach also provided an encouraging update on first-choice goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi, whose fitness had been a concern in recent days.

“We are extremely happy with his progress,” Gaspar said, offering optimism that the experienced goalkeeper is recovering well from injury.

Gaspar’s comments will come as a major boost for Ghana, with the Black Stars preparing for one of their toughest group-stage assignments. England arrive with an attack packed with quality, making the performance of Ghana’s goalkeepers likely to play a decisive role in the outcome.

With confidence growing within the camp and Zigi edging closer to full fitness, the Black Stars will hope their last line of defence can rise to the occasion as they seek a positive result against the 2026 World Cup contenders.
