France takes a 1-0 lead into halftime against Sweden in their 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32 clash after a dominant finish to the opening period.
Kylian Mbappé finally broke the deadlock in the 45th minute, curling a superb strike into the corner after a clever combination with Ousmane Dembélé from a well-worked corner. The goal marked Mbappé’s fifth of the tournament and rewarded France for its growing pressure.
The French attack created several clear opportunities before the breakthrough.
