2026 FIFA World Cup: Mohamed Salah reacts after Egypt exit

Mohamed Salah has broken his silence following Egypt’s dramatic 3-2 defeat to Argentina, which ended the Pharaohs’ journey in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The captain addressed supporters after the elimination, acknowledging their frustration over several decisions that sparked controversy while urging them to remain confident about the national team’s future.

In a message to the fans, Salah admitted he understood their disappointment but insisted that Egyptian football could emerge stronger from the setback. “I know you are still angry, but I promise I will do everything in my power to make this a new beginning for Egyptian football on the international stage. Qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will not be enough, and simply taking part will not be enough either. This team deserves your trust,” he said.

Still without a club, Salah stressed his commitment to helping Egypt rebuild and compete at the highest level. The Liverpool legend believes the national team must learn from this painful defeat and continue improving to ensure they return stronger at the next 2026 FIFA World Cup opportunity.
