Ghana forward Brandon Thomas-Asante remained optimistic despite the Black Stars’ 2-1 defeat to Croatia, insisting the team has the quality to improve as the FIFA World Cup progresses.
Reflecting on the narrow loss, Thomas-Asante stressed that tournament football is often decided by key moments, with Croatia making the most of their opportunities.
“In tournament football, moments are important,” he said after the match, expressing confidence that Ghana will learn from the setback and produce stronger performances going forward.
The striker also praised the influence of Ghana’s substitutes, highlighting the positive impact they made after coming off the bench as the Black Stars pushed for a result.
Thomas-Asante recalled his own encouraging display against Panama earlier in the tournament and reaffirmed his commitment to the national team.
“I did well against Panama, and hopefully the fans see that I give everything to the team,” he said with a smile.
Despite the defeat, the forward’s comments reflected the determination within the Ghana camp as the Black Stars look to regroup and build momentum for the knockout stage.
